OUR STORY
The Parisien Family
The Parisien family, originally from Cyrville, has been working in the agricultural sector for six generations now. Paul-Émile, a member of the 4th generation, is the first in his line to grow annual plants in greenhouses, for which the Parisien family is recognized today. Jean Parisien, son of Paul-Émile, was the one who built the greenhouse complexes in Cumberland in the 1970s. Mario Parisien and his older brother Daniel (6th generation) continued the tradition with their greenhouses located in Cumberland and Bourget respectively.

Le Migrateur Garden Centre in Cumberland
Since 2008
After selling wholesale for several years and continuing to sell on the Ottawa ByWard Market like previous generations, Mario decided to open his own garden centre in 2008 in Cumberland. It bears the name Jardinerie Le Migrateur Garden Centre, inspired by the physical site, located along the Ottawa River.
Cumberland
In 2017, 149 years after their debut at the ByWard Market, the Parisien family decided to withdraw from it to concentrate on activities in Cumberland and Bourget. Since then, Mario has devoted all his time to growing quality plants which are sold at the Le Migrateur Garden Centre. He can count on the support of his friend and colleague Éric Boulanger who has worked with the Parisien family for over 35 years now.
